Help/Jobs/Draw artwork in SOS Vector

Draw artwork in SOS Vector

Sign OS's own drawing editor, opened from the sidebar or a job's files.

What this is for

SOS Vector is Sign OS's own drawing editor, built on VectorCraft and heavily changed for sign work. It opens in its own browser tab, signed in as you, and what you draw is saved on the job it came from, so the artwork sits with the job instead of on one person's computer. It's in public beta for every shop.

Before you start

  • •SOS Vector is a beta: save often, and tell us what breaks.
  • •Customer, supplier and installer logins don't get it.

Step by step

  1. 1

From a job, open its Files tab. Press New artwork to start a drawing on the job, or Open in SOS Vector beside one of the job's files to start from it.

  2. 2

The editor opens in a new tab. Draw, then save: the drawing is saved on the job, and each save is kept as a version you can go back to from inside the editor.

  3. 3

Back on the job, the drawing shows under SOS Vector artwork. Press Open to carry on with it.

  4. 4

Not working on a job? Press SOS Vector in the sidebar to open the editor on its own.

  5. 5

Deleted one by mistake? On the job's Files tab, press Show recently deleted and Restore it, within 30 days.

Tips & gotchas

  • →Files linked from Google Drive or OneDrive (Add from Google Drive / Add from OneDrive) stay in your cloud and can't be opened in SOS Vector. Upload a copy to the job first.
  • →Opening a file in SOS Vector never changes the file. You get a new drawing; the customer's original stays as it came in.
